First, you need to understand that you have sinned against God. Sin is disobedience to God’s Word and God’s Character. Sin separates us from God in a way that we can never make right with our own power.

Second, you need to understand that Jesus died a sacrificial death and shed His blood for your sins. In dying on the cross, Jesus took the punishment from God that you and I deserve because of our sins. God is completely satisfied in the sacrifice of Jesus because Jesus never sinned and gave His life in obedience to God the Father as your substitute.

Third, you need to understand that Jesus did not stay dead. Three days after dying Jesus resurrected from the grave defeating death. Because Jesus had the power to defeat death, He has the power to offer you eternal life as well.

Fourth, you need to repent of your sins and receive the gift of salvation by placing your faith in Jesus Christ. To repent of your sins means to admit them, confess them to God, and agree with God that your sin is wrong. Repentance also means that you desire to live a different life that is pleasing to God. Faith, means that you put all of your trust in Jesus Christ for your salvation. You trust His life, death, and resurrection as sufficient for your salvation.

At the moment you repent of your sins and place your faith in Jesus Christ, God immediately gives you the gift of salvation and eternal life. God cleanses you from all of your sins past, present, and future, and He gives you a new heart that desires to live for Him. God also gives you the gift of His Holy Spirit to seal your salvation for all of eternity and to empower you to live a life pleasing to Him.

If you have made this decision to trust in Christ for your salvation or if you have any other questions please call our church office or contact one of our staff or church members. We would love to share more of the good news of Jesus Christ to you.
