Worship. Music. Are they synonymous? Sometimes in church services, they can be. Music is definitely a form of worship but worship is much more than the music service. Worship is our expression, emotion, fulfillment of our purpose to God; music is simply a method in which to express our praise.
At Midway Baptist, our corporate worship services are comprised of a multitude of servant hearts that strive to use their talents to glorify Christ. Through the Worship Choir, Praise Team, Praise Band, and Orchestra, our services display a blended form of worship engaging the traditional, historic favorites as well as contemporary, faith-filled melodies.
Our Worship Choir meets on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 pm to prepare for weekly anthems of worship of varying genres including solos, duets, ensembles as well as full choir pieces.
Our Children’s Choir meets April through June and October through December at 6:00 pm on Wednesdays to prepare to participate in worship services as well as a Vacation Bible School presentation and a Christmas program.
Sing to the Lord a new song;
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.
Tell of His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised;
He is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the Lord made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
Worship in a Midway Baptist worship service is not intended to remain in the sanctuary. It is a praise offering to our Savior while encouraging us to live in a spirit of holiness throughout the week. Opportunities to love and serve surround us and as we live in His presence, our God is magnified in all things.
